The American TV series that became
very popular in whole America was the show Family Matters that now
can be yours on DVD for the complete TV series. It was an American
sitcom about the middle class family who lived in Chicago. The family
was African- American. It was a product of the perfect strangers and
the series rotated around the Winslow family.
After running for half year the
sudden introduction of Winslow’s nerdy neighbor Steve Urkel (played
by Jaleel White) make the serious more interesting and he became the
monitoring character in a few days. The series stayed a long time and
most of the time it was broadcasted by ABC. From September 22, 1989
to September 19, 1997 it was broadcasted by ABC. After that it was
broadcasted by the CBS network for one year (September 19, 1997 to
July 17, 1998). It was the second largest American sitcom with
African- American casts. Total numbers of episodes were 215 in nine
seasons.
The most attractive part of this
series was its enriched production side. The most popular producers
and their companies were engaged in the production of this sitcom.
The creator of this sitcom was William Bickley and Michael Warren and
it was further developed by Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett.
The executive producers of this series were Bickley, Warren, Miller
and Boyett.
The series was produced by
Miller-Boyett Productions with the help of Lorimar Television. From
season three it was produced by Bickley-Warren Productions. The total
series was filmed in front of live visitors in the WB studios in
Burbank, California. In most of the times the series was in the top
30 ranks. In 1990-1991 Family Matters DVDs was ranked in the top 15
TV series.
The series was started by
emphasizing the African American family. Its founder was Carl Winslow
and his wife was Harriette Winslow. His eldest son was Eddie Winslow
and his only daughters name was Laura Winslow who was very much
intellectual. Judy Winslow was his youngest child and latter he
adopted another child name 3J. The main story continued by focusing
on these characters. Other important characters were Mother Winslow,
Rachel Crawford and her son, Richie Crawford. Another interesting
character was Carl’s next door neighbor Steve Urkel.
